The story behind the standard.

Wayne D. Martin is an engineer, entrepreneur, and speaker who built the resources he once needed. A graduate of Morgan State University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, he sharpened his craft as a lead electrical engineer and project manager at AECOM and KCI Technologies before taking the leap into ownership.

In 2021 he founded MDS Engineering, a WBE/MBE-certified MEP firm delivering mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design on public and institutional projects. Beyond engineering, he founded The Academic Athlete to help underserved youth excel in the classroom, in competition, and in life.

On stage, that lived experience becomes a message: adversity is not the obstacle to a purposeful life — it is the raw material. That conviction is the reason the B.U.I.L.T. framework exists.
